Suspect arrested for pushing a mother down the stairs of a NYC subway station and claiming her life – Telemundo New York (47)

Authorities arrested the man suspected of throwing a 58-year-old woman down the stairs of a subway station in Manhattan and causing her death in July this year.

David Robinson, 53, had been identified by the police, eleven days after the attack, as the main suspect in Than Wtwe Than’s death at the station. Canal Street.

Robinson was arrested Friday and charged with murder and two counts of involuntary manslaughter. It was not immediately clear whether he had hired an attorney.

According to the police report, the attack occurred on July 17 and began after a confrontation over the suitcase of Than’s 22-year-old son. Robinson allegedly made a complaint about it, then threw the young man away, and both mother and son collapsed down the stairs. The son, however, was not injured.

Than had been hospitalized in critical condition and died four days after the fall at Bellevue Hospital.

“Once again, it is clear that with cameras in every subway station, anyone who takes advantage of public transportation passengers can expect to be identified and face justice. We urge prosecutors to be as aggressive in court as the NYPD in their investigation, “Tim Minton, MTA communications director, said in a statement Saturday.
