Bundesliga: The 18 indispensable parts of the league – BUNDESLIGA

The man for the dirty work, the MVP of the league, the stabilizer or just the marathon man: SPORT BILD takes a close look at the Bundesliga teams and introduces the players who cannot be replaced in their teams – and they are not always just the superstars.

FC Bayern

Joshua Kimmich (26) is valuable offensively and defensively, has had the most ball contacts in the league so far (101 per game), ran the third longest distance, carries out almost all standards and has been involved in seven goals (three goals, four assists). He was missing against the FCA and his team promptly lost.

BVB

Scored in 27 Bundesliga games Erling Haaland (21) at least one goal (49 in total). In these games there were 22 wins, two draws, three defeats – 2.52 points per game. In 36 games he did not meet or he was missing. Balance: 20 wins, two draws, 14 (!) Bankruptcies – 1.72 points per game.

Sc freiburg

Christian Günter (28) did not miss any of the last 90 Bundesliga games, was always in the starting line-up. As a left-back, he is the best assists at SC with five assists. Günter gave 32 passes to a shot this season, only Bayern’s Thomas Müller has more.

Bayer Leverkusen

Charles Aránguiz (32) always falls out injured. Since playing at Bayer (summer 2015), he has missed 78 Bundesliga games. In six games with him there were five wins and one draw this season. He was absent six times. Balance: one win, two draws, three defeats.

Union Berlin

Central defender Robin Knoche (29) has not missed a league game since moving to Berlin (2020), was in the starting line-up in all 46 games, played 45 times. Has an extremely low false pass rate (12%), only commits 0.9 fouls per game on average.

VfL Wolfsburg

Wout Weghorst (29) got a center forward competitor in Lukas Nmecha (22). Nevertheless, VfL is still on the drip of its goal threat to move back into the European Cup. The Dutchman scored 57 goals in 110 games and was VfL’s top scorer three times in a row.

RB Leipzig

Yussuf Poulsen (27) is not set at RB. A mistake! If the Dane was in the starting line-up, there were three wins and two draws (2.2 points per game) this season, without him two wins, one draw and four defeats (1.0 points per game). He has met four times so far, only Nkunku more often. Across the seasons, there was no defeat in the last 27 league games when he scored.

Mainz 05

Stefan Bell (30) has been a regular since the beginning of 2021, after having been out for a long time and then not in demand. Since then, the defender has started 28 times in the Bundesliga, always in the current season. Mainz conceded only 30 goals in these games.

Borussia Monchengladbach

Matthias Ginter (27) is set under each coach. Since moving to Gladbach (2020), the national player has not sat on the bench once. He is the number one point of play in the structure of the game (86 ball contacts per game) and with 67 percent won duels, he is extremely strong in duels.

1899 Hoffenheim

With 84 hits is Andrej Kramaric (30) His club’s record scorer in the Bundesliga. But the Croatian is also a strong preparer and already has six assists this season (only Bayern’s Müller more). Last season Kramaric missed six games, TSG only scored two points.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Without Filip Kostic (29) There is not much going on in the Eintracht offensive. He was involved in seven of the 14 goals as a shooter (three times) or preparer (four times). Since playing for Frankfurt (2019), he has missed six league games in which only one win was achieved.

VfL Bochum

Anthony Losilla plays in the Bundesliga for the first time at the age of 35. The clearer brings the necessary toughness for the relegation battle. He has only missed 15 league games since 2014, eleven of them due to bans. This season Losilla is again the VfL professional with the most fouls (21).

Hertha BSC

FC Augsburg

Only 13 starting XI appearances last season, but now it is Reece Oxford (22) Regular players. In eleven of twelve league games he was on the field for 90 minutes. He is the strongest professional of the Augsburg team (61% won) and now also dangerous for goals (two hits).

VfB Stuttgart

Wataru Endo (28) has played in 45 of 46 league games since the Bundesliga promotion, always in the starting line-up. When he was absent due to a yellow card suspension, VfB lost to Bielefeld. 87 percent of his passes arrive, he leads most of the duels at VfB.

Clearer Manuel Prietl (30) did not miss a single minute in the past 27 Bundesliga games. With a running distance of 147.3 kilometers so far, the Austrian is number one in the league and fills defensive holes.

Greuther Fuerth

Branimir Hrgota (27) Fürth scored 16 goals this season, eleven of them in the second half of the season, in the Bundesliga, and is the Franconian’s top scorer there too. He was responsible for three of the eight hits, all of them from penalties. As the only Fürth, he was always in the starting line-up.
