KOMPAS.com – Adequate rest time at night benefits the health of the body, a clearer mind, and a longer life.

If we are less rested or lack of sleep, then the condition of the body becomes disturbed.

In fact, “losing” sleep for just 15 minutes can have an impact on our body condition.

The new study found that lack of sleep for 15 minutes will cause weight gain significant person.

The study is published in JAMA Internal Medicine.

The researchers took data from the use of a sleep tracking app on 120,000 participants connected to smartphones, watches, and fitness tracking devices (fitness tracker), as reported by CNN.

As a result, people with a body mass index (BMI) above 30 had less sleep than 15 minutes than those with a healthier BMI.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, people with a body mass index above 30 are categorized as obese.

According to the researchers, their findings support the idea that sleep patterns may be linked to weight management and health conditions.

Several previous studies examined the relationship between sleep deprivation and weight gain.

According to a 2014 USA Today report, lack of rest can trigger an increase in levels of the hunger hormone (ghrelin), as well as a decrease in the hormone satiety or leptin.

Frequent drowsiness has also been shown to cause an increase in the average 300 calories consumed per day.

Therefore doctors recommend that we sleep at least seven hours every night.

However, meeting adequate sleep time is not an easy task.

To fix this, experts advise us to set a bedtime schedule, avoid caffeine in the afternoon, get used to natural light exposure, and add 30 minutes of exercise to our daily routine.
