We want to keep the epidemic under control for as long as possible so that we can get as far forward as possible with vaccination. This was stated by the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov during an extraordinary briefing after a meeting with the members of the NIGHT and the heads of the RHIs.
Here is what he said:
“In about 8 districts there are more than 300 cases per 100,000 people. Among them are Kyustendil, Burgas, Sofia-city and Shumen.
The measures we are thinking of are different, such as wearing masks outdoors, introducing an earlier evening class for nightclubs, restricting access to malls and gyms, and distance learning for students.
We are still thinking whether these measures are national or local.
Our starting point is to hold the elections in a safe environment. Don’t use the current situation for political speculation, because that is irresponsible. “
Minister Angelov called on people to be calm and reasonable and to wear masks. The situation seems to be under control and must remain so for as long as possible.
According to him, a new discussion of the new restrictions with the National Operational Headquarters and a corresponding decision-making on the proposals is forthcoming.
Angelov clarified that the incidence has passed 300 per 100,000, but so far not on a 14-day basis, but on a 7-day basis.
BLIC reminds that the meeting between the Minister of Health, the directors of all regional health inspections in the country and representatives of the National Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus lasted more than 3 hours.
The meeting discussed the introduction of additional measures in connection with the increasing cases of new coronavirus infections and the distribution of vaccines to be delivered by the end of the week in the country.
These are the districts of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kyustendil, Montana, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Haskovo, Yambol.
The results were announced by the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. After sequencing of 413 samples of SARS-CoV-2 – in our country and in Germany, the British variant of the virus was confirmed in 303 of the samples.
The South African, Brazilian and Nigerian versions of the coronavirus have not been confirmed in Bulgaria.
