Storm in the province of Como, in Lombardy. After another night and another afternoon with very violent thunderstorms, entire areas around Lake Como are cut off from the outside world due to numerous landslides and flooded torrents. The torrents have invaded the inhabited centers and once again cars are swept away by the fury of the water, very dangerous situations. A large number of landslides have caused the roads to be interrupted in several places because trees and boulders fell into the valley. The most affected area is the west bank of Lake Como from Cernobbio to Colonno and the Intelvi Valley.

All the torrents that flow rapidly downstream from the mountains above Lake Como have increased their drainage in a short time and overflowed, flooded roads and caused significant damage. Some of the locations affected: Cernobbio and Moltrasio, Laglio, Brienno, Argegno and Colonno. Damage also occurred in the Intelvi Valley.

Landslides have been recorded along the eastern shore of the lake, near Lezzeno. The situation in Blevio is still critical, while the flow rate of the Breggia torrent is worrying.

Local police have asked residents not to leave their homes. The situation is grave and there are concerns about the bad weather forecast for today. The storm has lasted in Lombardy for three days. Since yesterday there has been an orange alert in the region.
