State of emergency due to lack of formula milk in NYC

Mayor Eric Adams signed Emergency Executive Order 98, declaring a state of emergency related to a shortage of infant formula milk supply.

The order will empower the city’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to prevent the rise in prices of powdered milk for babies.

This after 78,000 pounds of this product arrived in the country from Germany. The import is part of Operation Volar Formula, which aims to increase the supply of the product.

New Yorkers who are overcharged for formula can file a complaint online: nyc.gov/dcwp or by calling 311 and saying ‘Overcharge.’
