According to Nvidia, Star Wars Outlaws will come to PC with ray tracing and DLLS 3. A new trailer shows what effects this has on the graphics.
Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games in the list of upcoming Ubisoft releases. While fans are eagerly waiting for Ubisoft to reveal more details about the new open-world action-adventure, Nvidia has spoken out.
In one Blogpost Nvidia has announced that Star Wars Outlaws will feature support for DLSS 3, ray tracing and Nvidia Reflex on PC. Anyone who has the appropriate hardware can look forward to improved frame rates and resolutions, reduced latency, physical ray tracing shadows and global illumination.
What do these functions bring?
- DLSS 3: DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling. The technology developed by Nvidia uses artificial intelligence to improve game graphics. It increases performance by rendering the image at a lower resolution and then upscaling it, while maintaining image quality.
- Ray tracing: A rendering technique that creates realistic lighting effects in games by tracing the paths of light rays and calculating interactions with objects and surfaces. This creates realistic shadows, reflections and refractions.
- Nvidia Reflex: A feature specifically designed for competitive gaming to reduce system latency.

After Ubisoft last announced the release date for the end of 2024, the release date was quickly corrected again. For now, all we know is that the open-world game set in the Star Wars universe is scheduled to release sometime this year.
