South Sumatra Health Office Ensures No Outdated Vaccines

Merdeka.com – The South Sumatra Health Office confirmed that the first phase of the vaccine was used up by health workers. No vaccine has expired or has expired.

The head of the South Sumatra Health Office, Lesty Nurainy, revealed that the Sinovac vaccine used in the first phase will expire tomorrow. However, the stock is no longer there.

“The vaccines that expire on March 20 have been used up, I’m sure nothing is left in the warehouse or vaccination facility,” said Lesty, Friday (19/3).

According to him, the existence of an end of life has made him optimize the vaccination for the target on time. The public is asked not to worry, because it is certain that the vaccine used has not expired. “It is impossible for us to give an expired vaccine. So, don’t worry,” he said.

Lesty said that the progress of vaccination for health workers to date has reached 90 percent. Meanwhile, for public servants the figure is 12 percent, while the elderly are only 1.2 percent.

The low percentage of vaccinations for the elderly is due to a number of reasons. Most of them are reluctant to be vaccinated because they are afraid, and there are also health problems for potential vaccine recipients.

“Vaccination for the three groups is targeted for completion in May,” he said. [yan]
