Soon the end of the health pass in the shopping centers of Lyon and the Rhône?

The Minister of the Economy detailed on Monday the evolution of government policy regarding the health pass.

In an interview with BFM TV, Bruno Le Maire announced the end of the application of sesame vaccine at the entrance to shopping centers of more than 20,000 m² in the departments where the incidence rate is less than 200 cases of Covid per 100,000 inhabitants.

This measure, which will come into force on Wednesday, is conditional on the number of new cases falling continuously over a full week. Even if nothing is official for the moment, this should concern the Rhône and the Metropolis of Lyon since the rate there is 182 cases per 100,000 inhabitants against 237 last Tuesday.

For the moment, 13 shopping areas are subject to the sanitary pass: namely those of La Part-Dieu (Lyon), Confluence (Lyon), Carré de Soie de Vaulx-en-Velin, Porte des Alpes de Saint- Priest, from Carrefour and Ikéa to Vénissieux, from Auchan to Caluire, from the Grand Ouest to Ecully, from the 2 Valleys of Givors, from Saint-Genis 2 to Saint-Genis-Laval, from the Géant Casino in Villefranche-sur-Saône and from Carrefour de Francheville.

This news should greatly relieve the managers of Lyon shopping centers and put an end to the very long queues that customers have seen. On Saturday, the Confluence district was for example even more saturated than usual since the health pass was checked at the entrance to the parking lot of the Pôle de commerce et de loisirs.
