Offenbach (dpa) – The arena of the traditional club Kickers Offenbach am Bieberer Berg is now called “Come Healthy Re-Stadium”. The previous namesake Sparda-Bank-Hessen and the stadium company want to send a positive message in the corona pandemic. The cooperative bank waived until further notice the right to designate the arena of the regional football league, as announced on Thursday.
Linked to the name change is a fundraiser. The money is to be collected for a “thank-you celebration” after the pandemic in the stadium rooms. “At this event, all employees of systemically relevant professions in Offenbach should be able to celebrate free of charge in one evening in the stadium – as soon as this is possible again,” said Mayor Felix Schwenke.
