Six people arrested in raids against drug counterfeit network

The simultaneous operations that the Public Ministry carried out this Friday morning in Greater Santo Domingo, Peravia and San Cristóbal, was against a network that is dedicated to falsifying drugs, including products known as Genotropin, Trenbolone and other illicit steroids for muscle development.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes and Crimes Against Health (Pedecsa) coordinated the operation in which it dismantled the “criminal structure” dedicated to counterfeiting drugs.

The raids that included gymnasiums were developed in cooperation with the Santo Domingo Este Prosecutor’s Office and the Special Division for Investigation of Transnational Crimes (Deidet-Dicrim), with the support of the Ministry of Public Health.

Six people were arrested, identified as: Robert Galva Mejía, Hamlet González Alcántara, Ana Leidy Silvestre Genao, Marcos Antonio Féliz, Arthur Lee Roling and Olivia María Teresa Guerrero, who will be presented before a judge of the Instruction, to know them measures of coercion within the term established by law.

In total, eight raids were carried out in Santo Domingo Este, the National District, San Cristóbal and Baní, Peravia province, including some gyms, where the authorities seized a large amount of evidence consisting of illicit drugs, vehicles and cash for more than 1.5 million pesos.

The Attorney for Crimes and Crimes against Health, Rafael Brito Peña, reported that the members of said network were engaged in the manufacture, storage and distribution of counterfeit drugs, including products known as Genotropin, Trenbolone and other illicit steroids for development muscular.

The operation was carried out by prosecutors attached to the Pedecsa, the General Directorate of Persecution of the Public Ministry and the Santo Domingo Este Prosecutor’s Office, whose authorities have warned that they will continue to beat them and dismantle the criminal structures linked to smuggling, counterfeiting and other criminal offenses. .
