Since the beginning of the day, there have been 59 shellings in the Donbas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost

Soldier killed in Donbas

The separatists carried out almost all shelling with heavy weapons. One Ukrainian soldier was killed, another was injured in combat.

Since the beginning of the day, separatists have recorded 59 shellings in Donbas, 54 of them with the use of heavy weapons. About it informs press center of the JFO headquarters on Wednesday, February 23.

In particular, the separatists fired on the Ukrainian military near:

  • Novotoshkovsky – five times – from BM-21 Grad, 122 mm artillery, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars.

  • Golden – from 122 mm artillery.

  • Popasnaya – twice – from 122 mm artillery, 82 mm mortars.

  • South – seven times – from 122 mm artillery, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, mounted anti-tank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

  • Peskov – four times – from 122 mm artillery, 120 mm mortars, UAVs using VOG-17.

  • Svetlodarsk – four times – from mortars of 120 mm caliber, jet infantry flamethrowers Shmel.

  • Bogdanovka – fourteen times – from artillery of 122 mm caliber, mortars of 120 mm caliber 82 mm, BMP-1.

  • Mariupol – seven times – from 122 mm artillery, 120 mm mortars, anti-tank and hand grenade launchers, BMP-1, heavy machine guns.

  • The villages of Luhansk – from artillery of 122 mm caliber.

  • Happiness – three times – from BM-21 Grad, mortars of 120 mm and 82 mm caliber.

  • Avdiivka – four times – from 120 mm mortars, mounted anti-tank grenade launchers, mounted automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, small arms.

  • Marinki – five times – from mortars of 120 mm and 82 mm caliber, mounted anti-tank grenade launchers.

  • Granite – from anti-tank missile systems.

“As a result of the shelling, one Ukrainian serviceman received injuries incompatible with life. Another one received a combat injury. The Joint Forces Command expresses sincere and deep condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. The Joint Forces control the situation and adequately respond to potential enemy threats,” the message says.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal stated that Ukraine does not plan offensive operations. Despite the fact that Russia’s choice is threats, blackmail and military escalation, Ukraine does not intend to attack and strives for peace, the prime minister stressed.
