NEW YORK – After beautiful sunny fall days, severe weather returns to the tri-state area this Tuesday, according to The Weather Authority (LAEET).

Severe conditions arrive Tuesday with damaging thunderstorms and winds before a cold front that will push temperatures to 60 degrees until the end of the workweek.

Some rains may arise early in the day to the north and west of the city and become more dispersed at noon. Stronger storms are expected in the afternoon. At this point, gusts of wind seem to be the main concern, although large hail and lightning are also possible. Flash floods are not expected.

Most of the bad weather will be along the Jersey shore, according to LAEET.

Cooler, drier air comes in behind the front Tuesday through Wednesday, keeping temperatures in the 60s for most. Central Park hasn’t seen highs in the 60s since July 3. The highs will remain below average for at least the end of the work week.

However, the next 10 days appear to be mostly dry.
