Jakarta –
There is something unusual that is experienced Yamaha During MotoGP 2020. Their satellite team’s incision is even better than the factory team.
So far, 6 series of races have been completed. A total of 5 riders took turns reaching the highest podium, 4 of which were the first victories in the MotoGP class. There is Fabio Quartararo (Spanish MotoGP), Brad Binder (Czech MotoGP), Miguel Oliveira (Styria MotoGP), and finally Franco Morbidelli (MotoGP San Marino).
Of these names, two of them are Yamaha riders, namely Quartararo and Morbidelli. But they are riders Petronas Yamaha SRT, which has the status of a satellite team. While Monster Energy Yamaha, which is a factory team, haven’t won even once this year.

From 6 races, Quartararo has recorded two wins at Jerez, two qualifying pole positions, and once recorded the fastest lap despite his recent decline in performance. Meanwhile, Morbidelli has been on the podium twice, one as runner-up (Czech) and one as champion (San Marino).
What about Monster Energy Yamaha? Actually not very bad. Maverick Vinales twice finished as runner-up and twice won the qualifying pole position. While Valentino Rossi managed to get on the podium once by placing third at Jerez.
But overall, the Yamaha factory team’s performance is still not up to expectations. When Quartararo took pole twice, he managed to turn it into two wins.

Likewise with Morbidelli. During two starts from the front row (the third in Czech and the second in San Marino), he won the podium. However, Vinales experienced different things.
When he grabbed the pole twice, his position dropped and finally failed to win the podium. Even though when he won runner-up twice at Jerez, he started the race from the second grid.
What about Rossi? Except in the Spanish MotoGP when he was retired, The Doctor actually always finished in a better position than when he started the race. Only at San Marino the starting and finishing positions were stagnant, namely in fourth place.
Even so, The Doctor rarely performed well in the qualifying phase. He often started in the middle row, so his struggle to reach the podium was certainly heavier and ended up failing.
It is interesting to look forward to whether Monster Energy Yamaha is able to reverse the situation in the next series, or is it the Petronas Yamaha which is getting more and more racing.
