Thiruvananthapuram – Police confirmed that Santosh (39), who was arrested for sexually assaulting a doctor and attempting to enter her home in Kurkankonam, broke into her home in the city last December and tried to torture the student with a knife.
This was confirmed by comparing the fingerprints taken by the Perurkada police with his own. Although a case of attempted torture was dismissed, the investigation did not proceed. It is shocking information that Santhosh, a resident of Sivajipuram Padmanabha Vilasam in Malayinkeesh Macha, went on to commit crimes as serious as the driver of the water resources minister’s private secretary without being captured.
On December 19, 2021, an attempted rape occurred in another house in Kukankonam. 4 students who were attending civil service exam training had rented the top floor of this house. At around 2 am, the defendant entered by climbing over the wall, broke the lock of the grate and entered the upper floor. After covering the sleeping girl’s mouth, he pointed a knife and tried to torture her. The girl’s hand was cut off when she swung the knife.
Hearing the commotion, the people in the next room ran, threw the blanket and ran away. The girls immediately informed the police and issued a detailed statement. But to no avail. Neighbors waited days and nights to catch the attacker. A month later, he went back to the same house, but heard a noise outside and ran away when the students raised an uproar.
The girls recognized Santosh after seeing footage of him being arrested. Again Santosh, who is in prison, will be taken into custody and evidence will be collected. Museum police said he will be arrested today in the case of assaulting a female doctor. Meanwhile, the contractor revealed that Santosh’s was a political rendezvous and he was the driver of Minister K. Krishnankutty’s office during the previous government.
