Samsung to lift the veil on its new smartphones

South Korean giant Samsung will unveil its new high-end phone, the Galaxy S20, at its official conference in San Francisco. The event can be followed live from 8 p.m. in Switzerland.
The Galaxy S20 is not the first 5G phone of the brand, but it will be the first compatible with the American market. Indeed, the four main American operators now offer a form of 5G network, with however significant differences in terms of coverage and technological network and speed.
The Samsung S20 should come in three models – S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra – all of which will be compatible with 5G as soon as they are released in the United States. Samsung however plans to offer 4G and 5G models internationally.
At the Oscars, which took place on Sunday in Los Angeles, Samsung has already lifted the veil on its new foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip. Its flap design is reminiscent of first generation cell phones.
The device has a dual-lens camera system on the back, next to which there is a small screen giving quick access to notifications. Other details will be released on Tuesday.
According to South Korean observers, the new smartphones could be equipped with a blockchain wallet with “improved security functions”.
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10. It is the first flagship phone of the brand to be equipped with a blockchain wallet.
