Samsung Galaxy A42 will be an affordable 5G phone
Samsung plans to launch more affordable 5G smartphones in 2021 and one of these phones is likely the Galaxy A42. According to a message from Sammobile the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G with model number SM-A426B is now in the making.
Samsung has already released several smartphones with the new internet standard and is trying to lower the price barrier in the meantime. For example, the manufacturer of two midrange devices has launched a 5G variant, the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71. In 2021, we will most likely expect more of this.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G may have 128GB of storage and appears in the colors gray, black and white. The Galaxy A41 successor, according to Sammobile, probably also appears as a 4G version in countries where 5G is not yet (widely) available.
The device should be launched in 2021, but it will not get much more specific than that. All other specifications are also unknown.
Emergence 5G: wider range of affordable smartphones
Samsung is not the only one who wants to offer 5G for a low price. Chipmaker Qualcomm is also fully committed to this and has recently announced a new chipset.
The Snapdragon 690 offers 5G support and is likely to focus primarily on the budget and midrange segment. The current processors of Qualcomms 600 series are in Android phones from 250 to 400 euros.
