Samsung is said to be working on a 150 megapixel camera sensor for smartphones, which is to be used in the first Xiaomi devices by the end of 2020.
After Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera, the South Korean electronics company is now to work on a 150-megapixel camera sensor with a size of almost one inch for smartphones that manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo to be sold as “MSPoweruser” reported. Xiaomi plans to deploy the sensor as early as the fourth quarter of 2020, while Oppo and Vivo plan to use it for their next-generation smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 875 processor, to be launched in the first quarter of 2021. The report also says that the companies actually asked for a 200 megapixel sensor, but Samsung was unable to supply one.
