The new security continuum doctrine was demonstrated in the Drapeau district on Thursday, May 20. “This contract is a strong act of cooperation between the State and the City of Dijon”, launches the mayor of Dijon, speaking during the signing, this Thursday, May 20, 2021, of the integrated security contract with the prefect of the Côte-d’Or and the prosecutor of the Republic of Dijon.
The document organizes a security co-production between the prefecture of the Côte-d’Or, the prosecution of the court of Dijon and the municipality to Divia for transport, social housing lessors, associations and even citizens.
“The vast majority of our compatriots support the national police”
“We are the day after a large national police demonstration widely approved by the population. (…) It is unbearable that police officers, civil servants, men or women, lose their lives because their mission is to ensure respect for public order and to protect the population ”, declares François Rebsamen (PS) with reference to the rally in tribute to the police Stéphanie Monfeture and Éric Masson, on May 19 in Paris.
The mayor of Dijon also has a thought for four Lyon municipal police officers injured on the evening of May 19, after being struck by a driver, as well as for the divisional commissioner Bruno de Bartolo injured during a demonstration. “The vast majority of our compatriots support the national police,” said François Rebsamen.
A future crew of municipal police officers equipped with lethal weapons
“Safety, (…) these are facts; security is our common good. (…) The first victims of insecurity are often the poorest people. (…) When the public power does not perform well its sovereign functions, it is indeed the Republic which can falter, ”warns the first city councilor.
The mayor recalls the decision taken to equip an evening crew of municipal police officers with firearms, “an important decision” which will “facilitate the recruitment of municipal police officers” because of “competition between the cities”.

“It all starts with prevention”, according to François Rebsamen, who welcomes the efforts made by the State to strengthen the means of specialized prevention within the framework of the transfer of skills between the Department and the Metropolis. The staff will mainly be assigned to the republican reconquest districts of Mail in Chenôve and Grésilles in Dijon.
“Then deterrence,” continues to list the elected socialist. “The police presence is reinforced in our city. (…) There is more blue. It is deterrence, it is essential. (…) We are sure that the police are present, ”he assures us.

Its efforts make it possible to know controlled delinquency rates ”, summarizes the mayor of Dijon who thanks Nathalie Koenders (PS), first deputy, and Vincent Testori (UDE), municipal councilor delegated to public tranquility and mediation, for their involvement. .
National and municipal police officers in coordinated action

An “armed wing” which the signatories immediately demonstrated in a communication operation assumed since it was a question of underlining the dimension of the deterrence of the presence of police officers on patrol.
However, it was a real public security operation involving ten national police officers, ten municipal police officers and controllers from Divia. The latter were on duty at the Junot destination to check transport tickets.
Two arrests in the Drapeau district
The twenty police officers patrolled together around the Junot tram station on avenue du Drapeau. While the director of public security for Côte-d’Or, Jean-Claude Dunand, detailed the operational aspects of the new integrated security contract to members of the delegation, the police did indeed make two arrests in d ‘ other places in the neighborhood.
This Friday, May 21, the prefecture of Côte-d’Or indicated that a man had been arrested for violence against a person holding public authority and that another man had been found in possession of a firearm .
