Ramzan Kadyrov, who is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoke during a meeting with commanders and leaders of units under the Chechen Ministry of the Interior and the National Guard.
– If someone violates public security, an officer or a tourist, and if we don’t even find the offender, we will not continue to look for them, but we will definitely find their relatives, the Chechen leader said at a meeting that is said to have been held on 30 December.

“Will be killed”
The meeting where Kadyrov made the comments was about how the authorities can safeguard public safety.
– As has been customary since time immemorial, if one of the relatives has done something wrong and the criminal cannot be found, the brother or the father will be killed, the Chechen leader said according to several local media.

– That way our blood feud will be avenged very quickly. Otherwise, a person kills someone and lives with impunity, and the relatives begin to distance themselves from them. No kinsman’s renunciation is effective until we kill someone from their family and take the right to blood feud, he continued.

In late October 2023, Kadyrov also said that rebels should be shot in the forehead to prevent unrest.
He spoke out in a video on his Telegram channel in response to anti-Semitic riots that broke out in the Russian republic of Dagestan, which borders Chechnya to the west, on October 29.
