In South Africa, the number of victims of riots in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng increased to 212, said the acting minister under the President of South Africa Kumbudzo Ntshaveni, RIA Novosti reported on Friday, July 16.

“The total death toll in Gauteng province was 32, and 137 more arrests were made. A total of 862 people were detained in Gauteng. In KwaZulu-Natal province, 89 more casualties are reported, the total death toll is 180. In total, 1,692 arrests were made in the province.” – said Ntshaveni at a briefing.

She assured that the situation in both provinces will return to normal.
