“Retired US Air Force Colonel Analyzes Importance of Bakhmut to Russian Forces and Wagner’s Mercenaries”

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Retired US Air Force Colonel and military analyst Cedric Layton explained the importance of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut to the Russian forces and Wagner’s paramilitary mercenaries.

“If what the Wagner Group said is true, then it means that the Russians have basically gained a pivot point from which they can move north or south,” Layton said during an interview with CNN.

He pointed out that Bakhmut is on the road to Kramatorsk, and what the Russians want to do is they want to take over what is left of Donetsk.
