Reptile Returns: Exciting New Characters Finally Appear in Mortal Kombat 1

Reptile returns, but two characters who were last seen only in the 3D era finally appear.

Evolution is the mecca of virtual fighting games, or if you like, its world championship, where once a year players from all over the world compete in countless games. A single weekend decides the fate of the championship title and the huge amount of prizes at this time, but the publishers also try to take advantage of this opportunity. This year, in addition to Street Fighter 6, Tekken will also receive its eighth installment, but it seems that the hype train is being carried by MK’s new installment, Mortal Kombat 1. This practically restarts the series, at least its world, since Liu Kang, who became the fire god in the previous episode, created a completely new time calculation with the help of Kronika’s hourglass.

Have you read these?

For now, however, there are only guesses regarding the entire roster, so apart from the revealed fighters, it is not known who else will be in the game at launch. On Friday, August 4, the Mortal Kombat 11 tournament took place at Evo, but the promised announcement was missed, and more precisely, it was moved to Sunday. However, after watching the trailer, disappointment was replaced by joy, jubilation, and “craziness” as NetherRealm Studios surprised millions of fans with one of, if not the best, video of all time.

The veil has fallen on Reptile (Syzoth), who reappears in human form in the story, but there is also a twist in the matter, as he can also transform into a huge lizard – he mostly looks like the figure seen in the Mortal Kombat 2021 movie. And from the video, it turns out that they combined these two versions in a great way, according to many, they created the best variation of Ed Boon’s Reptile. In addition, two old acquaintances also pay their respects again, as first Ashrah and then Havik appeared on the screen. Both characters made their debut in MK: Deception, and later were part of Armageddon, but since then they have not appeared once in the new games. The former is a demon – although according to the new story he managed to cleanse himself of evil – from the world of Netherrealm – which is practically hell in MK – and the latter is a prophet of chaos who looks even creepier than ever. Sareena was also revealed as MK1’s new Kameo fighter, and she can also help her partner in demonic form during wrestling.

Without further ado, take a look at the almost 4-minute presentation:
