Pilar León tells what the role of the Renaissance sanitary women consisted of.
After having taken as a starting point the study carried out by Sharon T. Strocchia from Emory University in Atlanta, in which the American requests a rethink of what is to be considered as medicine throughout history In order to claim the role of the Renaissance woman in the History of Medicine, in “Boulevard Magazine” of Radio Euskadi we have interviewed Pilar León.
She is professor at the University of Navarra and has brought us closer to the world of Renaissance healers, both globally and Basque. Frontline jobs, midwives, articles published with or without a woman’s name, lawsuits against a midwife … All this and more in the interview with the member of the Humanities and Medical Ethics Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra.
