“Relative and Friend Arrested for Molesting Woman on the Way to Hospital”

Pathanamthitta: A relative and her husband’s friend who molested a young woman on her way to the hospital have been arrested. The police arrested the woman’s relative from Vazhamuttam and her husband’s friend from Vallikode. The incident related to the case took place on April 26 at 9 pm.

The 31-year-old complained that the accused molested her husband’s friend’s wife in the car while she was going to the hospital. His friend’s wife was admitted to the hospital on the night of April 26. Then the complainant and her husband planned to go to the hospital in Pathanamthitta to visit them and give them clothes. Meanwhile, a relative from Wazhamuttam and some others had reached here to go to the hospital.

Since not everyone could go by car, the woman’s husband rode to the hospital on someone else’s two-wheeler. The woman got into the car along with her relative and her husband’s friend. Apart from the woman, the two accused and another person were in the car. But during the journey, the accused diverted the vehicle to a different route. The complaint is that the woman was then assaulted and sexually harassed in the car.

After the incident, the accused reached the hospital in Pathanamthitta with their car very late. When the woman’s husband asked what was the reason for the delay, the accused replied that the vehicle ran out of fuel and this was the reason for the delay. The woman also did not disclose the harassment to her husband.

Two days later, on the 28th, the woman told her husband about the ordeal in the car. With this, the husband Konni informed the police over the phone. Then after recording the statements of the couple, the police would investigate and arrest the accused.
