registration and issuance of new material assistance has begun in Ukraine: how to apply and receive

Who can receive money and how to apply.

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) collects data to provide assistance, including financial assistance, to citizens affected by hostilities. The amount of payments is 2220 UAH. for each family member per month and is paid immediately for a period of three months – UAH 6,660, according to the agency’s website.

Support policies include:

  • displaced after February 24 of the current year;
  • Citizens who suffered as a result of hostilities after February 24 in Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy regions;
  • People who have returned to their places of permanent residence from another region / country, where they left due to military operations.

Ukrainians who meet one or more of the following vulnerability criteria are also eligible for the money:

  • single father/mother with one or more children under 18 or older (55 and over);
  • a household with a single/older person (55 years of age and older) or a senior citizen with one or more children under the age of 18;
  • a family with one or more people with special needs (disabilities, chronic diseases, etc.);
  • foster families caring for unaccompanied and separated children.

In addition, citizens who have not previously been registered with the UNHCR and who have not received financial assistance from other organizations are also eligible to apply. Persons meeting the vulnerability criteria must also meet the socio-economic criteria and have a monthly income of less than 5,400 hryvnia per family member.

All family members must be present to apply.

You must bring the originals of the following documents for each family member:

  • TIN CAN;
  • passport or other identification documents;
  • HPV certificate (if available);
  • main applicant’s hryvnia credit card;
  • birth certificate of children;
  • a document certifying the legal custody of the minor;
  • certificate/medical certificate in case of disability or chronic illness.
