NEW DELHI, iNews.id – 16 year old girl who is suspected as the victim rape paraded toured the village with the perpetrator in a village in Alirajpur District, Madhya Pradesh, India, Sunday (28/3/2021). A video recording the cruel acts of residents in the village circulated on social media.
It was seen that the woman whose name was not identified, along with the perpetrator of the rape were tied up and paraded around the village and the residents shouted at them with various slogans and blasphemies.
When the woman looked down in shame, several men were seen walking around her and singing ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai (Long Live the Mother of India)’. To make matters worse, family members of the rape victim also paraded her with the aim of humiliating her because she was considered a disgrace.
The incident shocked the Indian public and was considered a form of violence against victims of sexual crimes. Eyewitnesses said that the victim and the perpetrator of the rape were paraded after being beaten beforehand.
