The Rafael Méndez hospital is going to incorporate the selective sentinel node biopsy technique for the treatment of breast cancer. The new technique, which allows magnetic detection of this node, will benefit a hundred patients a year.
It is less painful and involves less risk of infection, being suitable even for pregnant women. Among its advantages is the reduction of radioactive waste between staff and patients.
