A transmission tower in the Gelderland town of Rijswijk was on fire in the night from Monday to Tuesday, the police confirm after reporting by Gelrenews. It is the third time this year that a fire has broken out in the mast. The mast also went up in flames in June and April. Then it turned out that there was arson.
It concerns a transmission tower on the Veldweg. When asked, a spokesman for the police said that it is not yet certain how the fire could have started. This is being investigated, but intent is not ruled out.

Since April 3, dozens of transmission towers in the Netherlands have already gone up in flames. In June, police reported that none relationship could be seen among all these fires.
NCTV suspected that series of fires are protest against 5G
Six people have been detained for the series of fires so far. The Public Prosecution Service could not say anything about their motives at the time. The National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) previously suspected that the fires were extreme protests against the arrival of the new 5G network.
