CHICAGO – R. Kelly’s girlfriends got into a fight Wednesday afternoon at the alleged sex offender’s Trump Tower condo, according to police and videos posted to social media.
Azriel Clary, 22, and Joycelyn Savage, 24, who live at the residence, were in a verbal and “physical altercation,” Chicago police reported. Some of the arguing is captured in Instagram live videos posted Wednesday, which was R. Kelly’s 53rd birthday.
The two women were later separated by “unknown individuals at the scene,” according to Chicago police, which responded to a call of a battery in progress around 2 p.m. The offender, who police do not name, was not in custody. Clary, who police call “the victim,” was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition.
“The female victim and the 24-year-old offender were engaged in a physical altercation until separated by unknown individuals at the scene,” Chicago police said in a statement. “The offender fled and is not in police custody at this time.”
No charges have been filed, according to police. Detectives are investigating the incident.
Kelly, a famed R&B singer, has continued to deny all allegations against him. He has pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen sex-crime charges filed in two federal courts and two state courts since February. He is scheduled to face trial in the federal case in Chicago in April, a May federal case in New York and a state case in Chicago scheduled for September.
In one video, Clary can be seen inside the condo surrounded by boxes, apparently packing up to move. Several other people stand inside the condo and in the doorway. Clary appears to be yelling at Savage, who stands outside the doorway.
As Clary, who met Kelly at a concert when she was 17, continues to walk around the apartment, breathless, she tells viewers that Kelly “has been lying to all.”

“The skeletons is coming out. Period,” Clary says, adding, “You know what? Rob has been lying to all of y’all, and that’s the sad part about it … He been lying to all . . . And he had people like me lying for him. That’s why we never watched the documentary. So we got on Gayle King as *** stupid as can be.”
Last March, Clary and Savage spoke with “CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle King, affirming their love for Kelly and defending their relationship with him.
In another video posted to her Instagram account Wednesday, Clary can be seen talking to police after the fight ended. She tells officers that Savage entered the residence with a “handler” and began to verbally, then physically assault her.
“She came to me and attacked me and I had to defend myself,” Clary says in the video. “She hit me on my head with her phone.”
In this later video, Clary tells police that the “handler” was in the condo with Savage to pick up Kelly’s “awards and Grammys.”
Clary can be heard telling police that she intends to press charges against Savage.
At the end of the video, Clary begins to cry, saying that she intends to leave Kelly.
“I’m leaving…it doesn’t matter. Most likely in about a day or two,” she says.
The fight comes just days after the third installment of Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly, Part II,” which specifically spoke to Clary and Savage, encouraging them to leave him.
“Joycelyn and Azriel, you are worth so much more than Rob,” said Jerhonda Pace, who started a relationship with Kelly in 2009 when she was 16 and whose voice is integral to the legal cases brought against the singer. “You have so much to live for. We’re still fighting for you, we really are.”
