Purely digital for the first time: The new recruiting campaign from VW

Electric, digital, sustainable – these are the keywords with which Volkswagen describes its future. The car manufacturer only lacks one thing: suitable employees. This is exactly what the new “Hello Possible 2.0” website aims for, for which six testimonials provide an insight into their projects, tasks and corporate culture.

For Volkswagen, it is the first personnel marketing campaign that is exclusively digital. “We pick up our target group exactly where they are – on the social networks from Xing, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram to Youtube,” explains Andrea Morgan-Schönwetter, Head of Recruiting & Talent Marketing Volkswagen.

Above all, she wants to attract potential candidates: those in the future areas of IT, digitization and electrification. This is where the greatest need currently prevails. “The job market has changed fundamentally in recent years. Highly qualified candidates in particular are becoming more and more demanding and choose the employer who offers them the best overall package. An attractive, modern work environment with corresponding benefits is a matter of course. For our target group Campaign, however, it is just as important to drive forward exciting projects and topics with a future-oriented approach and to have the opportunity to continuously develop as an individual. Volkswagen offers all of this as an employer and that is what we want to convey with the campaign, “says Andrea Morgan-Schönwetter, Head of Recruiting & Talent Marketing Volkswagen, further out.

The films with the testimonials are about work areas such as battery cell development, building an industrial cloud in production or UX / UI design for mobile services. The group has chosen “Why Volkswagen? – Why Volkswagen!” decide which is played at all digital touchpoints as well as on the landing page www.hello-possible.de.

A year ago, the car manufacturer made a change in its recruiting strategy and launched the “Hello Possible” campaign. As in 2019, the creative agency DDB / Voltage was responsible this year. The new campaign will start on November 6, 2020 and will run until at least the end of the year.
