The Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), warned the president Danilo Medina that he must respect the will of the citizenry, as democratic leaders do, since polls position Luis Abinader as the country’s next president.
Milagros Ortiz Bosch, who represented that political organization, assured that in democratic processes it is going to win or lose and the same polls that favored the president in his nomination and re-nomination as president, now project to Gonzalo Castillo as a loser.
“The same polls that previously served to project his two victories now confirm a certain defeat for his party’s candidate. True democratic leaders recognize alternation as the main characteristic of a mature democracy, “he said.
He indicated that only one person can become President of the Republic if he obtains the 50 plus 1, but not with fraud or pressure.
“The use of tricks is another mistake that prevents the growth of his presidential candidate,” said Milagros.
He indicated that the last thing the country needs is to add a political crisis generated by the “reckless ambition to govern against the will of the sovereign people.”
