President Danilo Medina met Monday afternoon with the Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas; and the executive director of the National Health Service, Chanel Rosa Chupany, to address the issue of the coronavirus.
The representative in the country of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Alma Morales, among others, also participated.
The Presidency informed that the protection measures for the Dominican population against Coronavirus are evaluated.
Prior to this meeting, the health authorities reported that two isolation rooms will be enabled in the country due to the possibility of a foreigner entering with the symptoms of the coronavirus and preventing its spread.
In total there are 13 countries with patients in varying degrees of severity. Everyone was at Wuhan at some point, where the virus originated.
In the United States five cases have been detected, while in Canada two have been confirmed.
