Preserving and Promoting the Art of the Royal Court of Hue: A Look into the Tuong Opera

According to historical books, the tuong (traditional classical opera) of the Hue court dates back to the Tran Dynasty (around 13th century) and flourished in the Nguyen Dynasty (19th century). The tuong faithfully reflects the worldview of the Nguyen feudal society and is a clear example of the classical theater school and the nation’s artistic heritage.
