In the last few hours, I have the feeling that we are approaching a clash in Ukraine. The situation is getting worse and so far I do not see enough potential to stop it. We have a clear position on the part of the Bulgarian Foreign Minister, which is increasingly isolated, political scientist Antoniy Galabov told Bulgaria On Air.
And according to political scientist Hristo Panchugov, Bulgaria is not participating in the big debate at all.
“This is partly the problem in the situation. We did not realize that Bulgaria’s foreign policy interest and its realization go through the use of instruments such as the alliances in which Bulgaria is a member – NATO and the EU. We pretend that Russia is not a source of insecurity in our region “Bulgaria must be an active part of the debate on how to get out of this crisis,” he said.
Galabov pointed out that Bulgaria needs air defense, and that Bulgarian airspace is being systematically violated by Soviet warplanes.
“The measures are not working. The first tests were not positive – neither in contact with the ruling majority in the National Assembly, nor in the cooperation of individual ministries. There are two problems that have existed since the beginning of the coalition.
The first problem is how decisions are made, and the second is who is responsible for them. “We continue the change” is only a pre-election coalition, “Galabov said.
Panchugov pointed out that at the moment there does not seem to be a crack in the coalition.
“We see today’s decision, which is related to the possibility of revoking the” green certificate “in Bulgaria. This is a topic that is extremely important for coalition partners. The question is whether this decision was taken under pressure, as the criteria “The question is whether there is a clear platform on which the debates have come together or whether we will have a handshake,” he said.
Panchugov also commented on the case with the Belene NPP.
The bright defense of President Rumen Radev for this project – Belene NPP, as well as the criticism of the government over its rejection, are worrying. “Radev for quick results in the energy sector, given that important decisions have been postponed there for years, is touching,” the political scientist said.
According to Galabov, it is important to note that we are not talking about management by Radev and Petkov, but by Vassilev and Petkov.
“Petkov is increasingly the band’s frontman, the more visible face,” he said.
The ruling coalition must immediately find out what the ultimate goal of this budget is and what policy will be pursued through it, Panchugov said. He added that if this is done, the shocks will be much smaller.
“If there is an open confrontation between the president and the prime minister, there is no way the president can win this battle. What I can’t explain is why this prime minister is so tolerant of Radev’s criticism of the government. and more, “he concluded.
