The story of the death of the young African American Irvo Otieno in the state of Virginia is said to begin with a garden lamp. According to the lawyer for the bereaved, the later victim stole the lamp from a garden on March 3. Because of an alleged burglary, Otieno is therefore taken into custody. According to the police, he resisted. Three days later, Otieno is transferred to a mental institution and dies.
