There were fights between groups and violence and aggression against the officials, the police in North Rhine-Westphalia told dpa. Most of the people involved were heavily drunk, had disregarded the corona distance rules, insulted the police and had shown themselves disrespectful.
Despite the corona pandemic, many people celebrated together in Munich, the police in Bavaria said. In the night from Friday to Saturday, there were up to 10,000 people on the Isar at peak times, and around 5,000 from Saturday to Sunday. According to the police, everything remained peaceful.
Things looked a little different on Leopoldstrasse, which became known as a party mile, especially after football successes. There, the police were reported early Sunday morning “a large number of aggressive people”. The officers advanced “with great effort” and met around 200 to 300 people there. In the case of aggressively appearing people, the police officers determined the personal details, and they also issued several orders to dismiss them. Two people were reported for insulting the forces.
