Deli Tua Polsek personnel, Medan Polrestabes, Bripka P, will be criminally processed for allegedly asking residents for peace money. Brigadier P has also been arrested.
“Detained,” said the Head of Public Relations North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra) Kombes Hadi Wahyudi when asked for confirmation, Saturday (11/13/2021).
Hadi said the detention would be carried out during an examination of Bripka P. The detention was carried out in Medan Police Station.
“Special detainees from Polrestabes,” said Hadi.
Previously, a video showing a man in police uniform being surrounded by residents with a narrative of being beaten by a mass went viral on social media (medsos). The incident occurred because the man was suspected by residents of being a fake police officer.

He was asked to show his identity. Residents were seen forcing the man in police uniform to take off his helmet and take off his vest.
The uploader said the incident occurred on Jalan Dr. Mansyur, Medan. According to the uploader, the man claimed to be Bripka P and served at the Deli Tua Police Station.
The North Sumatran Police also confirmed that Bripka P was a member of the police force. North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak said Bripka P did extortion to citizens.
“Me check, the handling by the Medan Polrestabes related to the viral news of the existence of members of the Police, unscrupulous members of the Polrestabes, especially the Delitua Police, who carried out the modus operandi of blackmailing the public. I said it was blackmailing the community by pretending that he had committed a violation,” Panca told reporters, Friday (12/11).
Panca said Bripka P would be punished. Bripka P is threatened with ethical and criminal penalties.
“The legal process is not only discipline but a code of ethics, including criminal,” said Panca.
