Atsushi Inaba (Studio Head, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of PlatinumGames) announced his rather sober stance on the new console generation from Sony and Microsoft about a year ago, which has been somewhat controversial on the Internet. And when the first consoles with 3D games appeared, everyone was amazed because nobody expected it. But the current announcements of the current consoles are good and interesting and he is also happy to be able to work with better technology, but it is one “predictable future”. There is no longer this surprise or the unexpected quality that characterized previous console generations.

All of this is good from an industrial point of view, but there is no surprise from his personal point of view. For him have the last Nintendo Switch caused enthusiasm. But according to his current level of information – and he doesn’t know every one of the new systems – Atsushi Inaba saw no real surprise.
