Pity, This Baby Was Born Without Hands and Feet because of Rare Syndrome Page all

VIDISHA, KOMPAS.comBaby women in India are born without hands and feet due to a rare genetic disorder.

The mother reported by local media aged 28 years, gave birth to her child in the village of Sakla, Vidisha district, Friday (6/26/2020).

According to the report reported Daily Mail on Saturday (6/27/2020), baby it was born with a genetic disorder called Tetra-Amelia.

The disorder makes it does not have all four limbs namely the hands and feet from birth.

The recorded video listed Daily Mail shows a woman holding a baby without both hands and feet, wrapped in a blanket.

Dr Suresh Aggarwal, a pediatrician at Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Hospital, Sironj, said the baby was healthy.

The doctor also revealed the baby will undergo further tests, whether the internal organs are functioning properly.

Tetra-Amelia Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by mutations in the WNT3 gene and is very rare.

According to pediatrician Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, quoted Daily Mail, this syndrome attacks 1 in 100,000 newborns. He claimed this was the first case in his career.

Then a study in 2011 by Dr. Eva Bermejo-Sanchez from the Research Center on Congenital Anomalies (CIAC) at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in Spain said, this disorder occurs in about 1 in every 71,000 pregnancies.

There have been several cases of this syndrome in previous years, including RJ Wilson from Florence, South Carolina.

His mother, Jasmine Self, was 5 months pregnant when the ultrasound showed Wilson’s limbs did not grow.

Another inspiring case is Nicholas James Vujicic. He was born in 1982 and also has the syndrome.

He has visited more than 44 countries to provide motivation, despite his imperfect limbs.

He also shared his story with school students, prison prisoners, and a number of other community groups.

When he and his wife Kanae were interviewed by 60 Minutes last year, Nick said he had wanted to commit suicide at the age of 10 because he could not stand being constantly ridiculed by his school friends.
