Perpetrator London was just free after imprisonment for terrorist offense NOW

The man who stabbed two people in a shopping street in South London on Sunday afternoon was recently released from prison, reports the London police Sunday night. He served a sentence for having committed terrorist offenses linked to Islamism, said spokesman Lucy D’Orsi.

Both victims are doing well. One of them was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but is recovering well. The second victim has already been released from the hospital.

Also, a bystander who was hit by glass fragments when agents opened fire on the suspect, is doing well under circumstances. The victim is still in the hospital.

The perpetrator was eventually shot after a short pursuit. According to the police, this concerns twenty-year-old Sudesh Amman, but the body of the suspect still needs further investigation.

“Suspect was on the terrorism list”

Initially, officers were afraid of the danger of explosion, because a bomb vest might have hung around the suspect’s body. After the area was cleared, specialists found that it was a fake bomb. The shopping street is still closed and it is not clear whether this will be released again on Monday.

According to British media, Amman is a supporter of Islamism, a political variant of Islam. The man was being watched by British intelligence and was on the terrorism list, said Sky News. Only people who pose a serious danger and possibly plan an attack are on the list.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday that he will introduce new plans aimed at monitoring convicted terrorism criminals.
