This new measure is in addition to the protocols introduced in May, following the first wave, to limit contamination inside the hospital.

A negative PCR test lasting less than 72 hours is thus requested from each patient before admission to the establishment, during a scheduled stay.
Patients who go through the emergency room are also tested before being hospitalized. In this case, an antigen test, making it possible to give a rapid result, is carried out.

Despite these precautions, and while the English variant is now dominant in Eure-et-Loir, contamination can occur within the establishment, particularly in patients in the incubation phase or in patients in contact with a member of the contaminated personnel. Yvon Le Tilly underlines:
“We have been confronted with clusters involving health professionals who may have lacked vigilance in sensitive places such as break or meeting rooms”

Since Monday, February 8, a mobile sampling team has been moving, seven days a week, to various departments at the Louis-Pasteur site to perform PCR tests on patients, according to a pre-established schedule. On site, the laboratory, equipped with a new machine, returns the results within 24 hours. Céline Marcille, health manager in charge of the system, observes:
“The tests are offered to patients every three days and are not imposed, but 90% of the time people agree. Like all treatments, if it is explained, the patient agrees ”

Between February 8 and 18, this measure detected four asymptomatic patients, who were hospitalized in oncology, orthopedic surgery and cardiology.

“Reinforced isolation measures were put in place immediately, even before the virus could infect other patients or members of staff,” notes Yvon Le Tilly. About 300 patients are tested each week using this device.
