At least five corona infections temporarily paralyze the United Nations headquarters in New York. Because of the employees of one member state who tested positive for the virus, all personal meetings of various committees on the site on the East River were canceled for Tuesday. Meetings would be suspended until the contact tracing was completed, it said. According to diplomatic circles, it is an outbreak in the UN representation of Niger. The African country is a member of the United Nations Security Council.
However, the most powerful UN body had already held the last meeting on Monday digitally as planned. Only on Tuesday should there be another face-to-face event.
