Pak Jokowi, Do not Go Home immediately after being injected with the Covid vaccine

Jakarta CNBC Indonesia – Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that President Joko Widodo will be the first to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccine injections will be carried out on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Apart from the President, the ministers will also receive vaccines on the same day.

This was disclosed by Budi Gunadi Sadikin during the Covid-19 Vaccine Readiness Coordination meeting and Health Protocol Enforcement Readiness for 2021 at the Sasana Bhakti Praja (SBP) Building, Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (5/1/2021).

“The first injection will be carried out next Wednesday in Jakarta by the President,” said Minister of Health Budi, as quoted from a press release from the Ministry of Home Affairs Information Center.

According to the official technical instructions (Juknis) for the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination, participants who have received vaccination are asked to wait at a health facility for 30 minutes. This is a precaution in the event of a serious AEFI case.

AEFI is any unwanted medical event. This usually occurs after being injected with a vaccine or immunization and does not necessarily have a causal relationship with the vaccine.
In the Technical Guidelines (Juknis) for Covid-19 vaccination, it is stated that in general, vaccines do not cause reactions in the body. When this occurs, it only causes a mild reaction.

The reactions that may occur after COVID-19 vaccination are almost the same as for other vaccines. Some of these symptoms include:

Local reactions, such as pain, redness, swelling at the injection site and other severe local reactions, eg cellulitis.

Systemic reactions such as fever, muscle pain throughout the body (myalgia), joint pain (atralgia), weakness, and headaches.

Other reactions, such as allergic reactions such as urticaria, edema, anaphylactic reactions, and syncope (fainting).

“For local minor reactions such as pain, swelling and redness at the injection site, health workers can advise the vaccine recipient to do a cold compress at that location and take paracetamol according to the dosage,” wrote Juknis.

“For mild systemic reactions such as fever and malaise, health workers can advise vaccine recipients to drink more, wear comfortable clothing, use warm compresses or showers, and take paracetamol according to the dosage.”
