Media reports in Colombia and Argentina said on Thursday that the widow of the Colombian drug dealer Pablo Escobar and his son will face trial in Argentina, on charges of money laundering.

The list of suspects summoned by an Argentine judge for the trial includes Escobar’s widow, Maria Isabel Santos, and his son, Sebastian Marroquin, and retired Colombian football player Mauricio Serna known as “Chico”, who played for the Colombian national team and Boca Juniors club in Argentina.

Santos and Marroquin are suspected of acting as intermediaries between criminals and businessmen, while our Sirna is said to have functioned as an interface.

It is believed that the criminal organization conducted money laundering of millions of dollars of drug money in Argentina through real estate and other businesses.

The main witness in the case is the former Colombian drug dealer and businessman José Pedrahita, who is currently imprisoned in the United States.

Santos and her two children from Scobar had settled in Argentina in the mid-1990s, after Barron killed the “Medellin” gang to smuggle cocaine by police bullets.

They changed their names to avoid being affiliated with Escobar, who generated billions of dollars in annual income and was responsible for the deaths of about 6 thousand people.
