our selection of films and series to test this week

As every week, the streaming platform will deliver its share of new features. We therefore offer you our selection of five visual works to consume without moderation this week.

Dark

If there was a long-awaited series on Netflix lately, it was probably Dark. The third and last season of the excellent German series has finally made a comeback, and the report is clear: the result is up to our expectations and offers a last high-flying season to conclude the story started in 2017 Between the sumptuous images, the more than convincing casting and the suspense of scarifying its armrests, the observation is clear: it is indeed the worthy apotheosis that the series deserved. Notice to the most avid lovers of fantastic thrillers: here you will find a real nugget, which comes to conclude everything with flying colors. A must-see to watch urgently!

Warrior Well

With Warior Nun, Netflix distributes a little treat to comic book lovers. The adaptation on a small screen of the work of Ben Dunn, Warrior nun araela, arrives on the platform this Thursday, July 2. We will discover the story of a young woman with strange powers. Accompanied by all her procession of nuns, decidedly very rock’n’roll, she finds herself embarked on the heart of a Dantesque fight between Good and Evil. On the program: hell, paradise, demonic monsters and all-round firearms, for a series that promises to be already eventful.

Snowpiercer

Relentless icy expanses, a metal monster launched at full speed and a unique revolution: this is the recipe of Snowpiercer, the excellent comic strip by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette. If the comics or the film adaptation of Bong Joon-Ho appealed to you, you could find your account in the eponymous series currently airing on Netflix, currently in its seventh episode (out of a total of 10). As we approach the conclusion of this first season, this week will be a good opportunity … to catch the train of revolt on the march!

The ladies on the phone

Les Demoiselles du Téléphone is a drama against the backdrop of Spain in the 1920s. The series tells the story of four women, all of whom occupy the position of “telephone ladies” at the main communications company of Madrid. Netflix’s first original Spanish series returns for a sixth and final season this Friday, July 3. Or rather, for the long-awaited second part of the five episodes released in February. This “season five-and-a-half”, which will close the series, will however take place without Angeles Vida (Maggie Civantos). It is difficult to know what to expect for this grand finale, but one thing is certain: this series sometimes decried for certain flagrant anachronisms, sometimes acclaimed for the precision of its decor and a certain sense of balance, should have to heart to end in beauty.

Gran Torino

Finally, we offer a little candy for fans of the great Clint Eastwood with the release on Netflix of a great classic of 2008, namely Gran Torino. The legendary “unnamed man”, from the eponymous trilogy by Sergio Leone, plays Walt Kowalski, a Korean War veteran haunted by his demons. Unpleasant and racist, he will however be forced to face his demons in contact with a Hmong family in his neighborhood. A very “American” fable in its structure, but also a beautiful film on questioning, tolerance and respect between peoples. Those who have already seen the film could even detect a particularly topical morality in it, in a context of racial and identity tensions in the United States. For others, it is above all a film to see once and its release on the streaming platform is the perfect opportunity!
