Opening ceremony: The 39th FILMFEST MÜNCHEN has begun

Yesterday evening, June 23, the 39th edition of FILMFEST MÜNCHEN was officially opened in Munich with 1,500 guests from culture, the film industry and politics in the new Gasteig HP8 concert and culture hall.

The focus of the opening was the film team of the opening film “Corsage” a Director Marie Kreutzer and her charismatic Main actress Vicky Krieps. The Luxembourger, who has been one of the most sought-after international actresses since she won the award for best acting performance a few weeks ago in Cannes, had temporarily interrupted her shooting in the USA for the opening.

Vicky Krieps expressed her gratitude to the festival: “I owe a lot to FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. This is where I won the advancement award in 2014 with “The Chambermaid Lynn”, this is where everything started for me.”

You saved the cinema for all of us through this difficult time!” She emphasized that Bavaria stands by its film and cinema industry and that as a location for creative people and filmmakers, it needs a festival like FILMFEST MÜNCHEN.
