At a press conference, the president of the Salvadoran Football Federation, Hugo Carrillo, stated that the Clausura 2020 Tournament will no longer continue in the three categories of football professional: First, Second and Third Division.
Thus, for health reasons, only the first round of the Clausura, that is, 11 dates, could be completed in the Major League.
The decision also covers women’s soccer, reserves, U17, Futsal and amateur soccer.

It would be the first time something similar has happened in the era of professional soccer. A different matter occurred in 1986, when the Major League tournament had to be postponed so the champion did not emerge in December 1986, but in February 1987.
