At present, there is still a ban on gathering in Belgium. In view of the possible relaxation of the corona measures, the mayor thinks that the restrictions on car traffic make it easier for pedestrians to keep a distance from each other.

It was previously announced that virtually the entire Brussels region will become a 30-kilometer zone from 1 January 2021. This is expected to reduce car traffic in the entire territory of the city of Brussels and the surrounding eighteen municipalities by a fifth. More than 1.2 million people live in the region.
