The suspect, identified only as Alexander J, has delivered $1.3 million worth of equipment to an Iranian whose company in Iran is blacklisted by the European Union (EU) as a cover for procuring equipment for its nuclear and missile programs.

Germany’s attorney general said the suspect was approached in 2018 and 2019 for the procurement of laboratory equipment.

He shipped two spectrometers purchased for $196,250 to Iran in January 2020, and six months later shipped two others, purchased for $458,705.
